I don't know why you continue keeping troops in Iraq, even when so many people in our country, the country you are supposed to care about, are against it. It should have never happened in the first place, and I personally believe you are provoking the attacks. The more attention you pay to a person, a group, a country, the more attention they get, and the more motivated they are. Why do we wear expensive clothing? To get attention. Why do you place huge pricetags on terrorists?... That's beyond me.

This madness has to stop. We are losing, and you know it. I don't know why this is continuing. Please consider taking an alternate, and safer route of action, and stop paying so much attention, and spending so much money, on security. It wouldn't change anything. These people are going to find loopholes in the system. We just need to ignore them, and hope it goes away.

Dear George:

I love our country, the openness of the people, the varied beauty of the land and the ideals and freedoms which our forebears gave. Right now I am saddened, unhappy to learn that young men and women in our military tortured prisoners in a country we shouldn't have invaded to fight a war we can't win to "liberate" a people who it appears want nothing to do with us. I long for you to lead by example, care about the environment, nurture government programs to educate children, protect older Americans and feed the hungry. Stop thinking the US must be the world's policeman. What about being an older brother, a caring aunt or adoring grandparent to struggling third world countries? They could be helped so much with just the amount of money wasted by you and other politicians through a government which is too large and too complicated. Our country is paralyzed bureaucracy.

It should be evident that four more years with you at the helm will take our beloved homeland further down the path of "what's in it for me" politicians, those whose egos must be stroked even if it means the slaughter of the young men and women of our military in places we just don't belong. Bring them home, W. and set things in this country right. Restore the respect the world has lost for the USA by creating a government whose purpose it to improve our country and nurture its citizens and help a floundering world. Take a good look at millions dying in Africa from AIDS and famine. Open your eyes to the horrors of slavery, child prostitution and the rape of the rain forests of Central and South America. See the dispair of people in our own country who have become so trapped in unemployment, drug and alcohol abuse and poverty that they can see no way out. I'm so sickened by the news morning, it just isn't a comfort any more to say, "Ah, well I didn't vote for him!"

Dear Mr. President,

In the daily lives of ongoing struggles we each lead, we must make choices on an almost minute to minute basis that will affect every part of our lives forevermore. We can choose defeat, cynicism, betrayal, hopelessness, suicide, murder, physical violence, alcohol, drugs, and any number of other scenarios. Or, we can choose the life God has set forth for our journey, expressing the Pollyanna syndrome to fake it till we make it, the small joys of a butterfly feeding daintily, the sunset blazing before our eyes, or seeing a person for who they are, not what the world sees them as. We can choose to smile at a stranger, lend a hand to a struggling mother whose children can't seem to get under control in a store, pray for the passing person in a wheelchair, believe in the ability of our teenagers to grow up with ethics and morality regardless of what the media claims they will be.

I am a former Correction Officer who has seen and dealt with the worst our society has to offer, the throwaways that no one wants to see or hear or deal with. The street people who can make our lives miserable if we so desire to feel that way. Inside almost every one of the people incarcerated in my facility there was something that could be seen as a light shining, however dimly, however deeply buried. Taking time to find out that the embarrassment of someone being unable to read had caused a change in direction, leaving them with what they thought were no options, led to a life of crime. Being able to learn to read has changed lives before my eyes. I am not foolish enough to believe there will never be crime, never be drugs, never be a completely happy society in America, but I do see the potential still exists.

Mr. President, I do not travel the common road, I never have. I seek the different in all things, in all people. I see children pleading with sad eyes for a moment to feel loved. I see teenagers congregating in malls and on streets because they are not disciplined by parents who are emotionally absent, as well as physically. I see struggling young adults trying to reach a place of independence, yet unable to find meaningful and well paying jobs, still placing hope in the great country we live in and all its potential for greatness individually. I see a man at a busy intersection who sells bags of fruit to people driving by, and I am happy that he has initiated a service that propels his desire for income, but I also see both the horror of people locking their doors against his call, and the shouts of hello that greet him regularly. His crisp neatness reflects his heart, even through the steaming southern heat. I see a man; I ask if he was a soldier, and I thank him for his pain that he has shouldered so long, alone. In mall food courts there are thousands of stories any one of us can listen to, if we choose. we can choose to change a life, if only for a moment.

I believe in this country I was so fortunate to be born in, I cherish its freedoms and possibilities. I believe the USA has a privilege and a responsibility to carry on in the midst of strife and uncertainty the desires of our forefathers to live in freedom and hope. I was not far from the events of September 11, 2001, impacted directly and indirectly, yet I never believed we would lose our place in freedom. I still flinch at the sound of low flying planes, yet I fly. I recall the faces I saw of incarcerated participants from the first World Trade Center bombing, faces close enough that I could smell their breath, yet I recall more clearly the faces of those who aided the injured. I know soldiers deployed and redeployed to the center of the Iraqi fighting, and I hear their pride above their fear. We have to choose freedom in all its forms, without fashioning hatred and bigotry through the very freedom we are allowed to form opinions in. I walk a line of hope, with faith in our citizens, our past and our future, our elected officials, our God who leads us with each breath we take. I believe in our system, flawed though it may be, that we will rise to the occasions we face with dignity and morality and ethical behavior.

I pray for all the world, that freedom that pays such a high price will continue to seek the high road. That we will all find a healthy and promising hope in the United States of America that leads us into peace of mind and heart.

Thank you, Mr. President, that you are a man of your convictions, that you do not waver in your beliefs, and that you rely on the Word of God to guide you.

Dear Sir:

I've been listening to the interviews in Congress regarding the powers of the Executive branch and the possible legal right to torture people during wartime and am appalled.

Either Americans stand for a level of behavior much higher than this, or we are as corrupt as much of the world says we are. The attempt by your administration to legalize torture and ignore both Federal law and signed treaties is immoral and wrong, regardless of whatever legal machinations may allow you to go unprosecuted for it. Please stop immediately.

Continued attempts to dehumanize our enemies will result in less support for our positions. This also needs to stop.

Finally, for today, the ploy of redefining "torture" is shallow and should be beneath the man who stands for my country. Again, you are responsible for putting an end to this behavior and to the climate that supports it.

I am realistic enough to realize that you neither care about my opinion nor will change your behavior in any way as a result, but I love my country and believe that I must speak out.

Not the Godly breath you clam to feel, but the words of hate and fear spewed by Carl Rove and Co. The for mentioned clam of Godly whispering too makes you all the more impervious to reason, compassion, fairness.
Mr. President, as I write to you I am overcome with a deep sense of patriotism, of what your predecessor once spoke of, of what I owe to this country, not to what it owes me. I write this as a preface to my letter in hopes of conveying my extreme pride in my country and of the greatness I believe still lies deep within its citizens.

Mr. President, I am troubled, I am frightened and I am saddened by the state of our union. I long for a time that I never knew, except for the brief moments after 9/11. A time when country was first, soldiers were heroes, politicians were respected and trust was a valued commodity.

This week as the country mourns the loss of a true American and remembers its heroes of a past generation, I have seen slivers of hope. In the barren landscape that was the past 3 years, these small things were enough to bring tears to my eyes. The 100,000 people in California that still recognized greatness and what is important. Those who paused their lives to pay homage to a man for what he did right, not what he did wrong.

It was a drop of nourishment after a hard, unforgiving journey.

Mr. President, I believe you love this country, but I believe that you have let others in your administration tarnish and damage not only your reputation, but ours as a country as well.

I will not criticize your policies, or your beliefs. I know that you too are an American and like us have had your freedoms paid for in precious lives.

All I will do is ask that you reach out to us. Remember what you loved about this country and maybe through you Mr. President we can learn to love ourselves and our country again.

I ask that you declare this Fourth of July, a national day of healing for America. A dedicated time for us to pause, reflect, and remember what we stand for. I urge you to gather your staff and have them pour out of their hearts everything that Americans need to bolster our spirits. And in turn I ask that you dedicate yourself and your soul to making us believe in greatness again. We are thirsty Mr. President. Can you offer us relief?

Galvanize us, do not divide us. Ignore those who will say it is for politcal purposes. Ignore those who say its futile. We long to serve, we long to uplift, we long to stand tall and to stand together with the flag of our beloved country draped across our shoulders. If you doubt, please only remember that some scoffed at Mr. Reagan as well.
The time is here for for someone, just one great man to truly sacrifice themselves in hopes of healing a country. Do it for us, not for yourself.

We will rise up and meet you. We will carry the burdens of this world with you and we will never back down in the face of crisis.

We are made of good stock Mr. President, but some of us need reminding.

Sincerely Yours,

Ginger
P.S. If you decide to speak on July 4th, please remember to tell the networks beforehand this time. :)

Hey, uhh,,,

Mr. President just doesn't seem appropriate for you George so I will just say “hey you”. Or maybe “hey Mr. Jester”, or “Mr. ha ha”. Or how about something befitting the coy little word butcher that’s ridden that cuteness right into the oval office. Oh well.

Anyways, Georgie consider this, the jig is up! We have had about enough of your ignorance and destruction. There's not one breath exhaled out of your mouth that doesn't have the political significance of it weighed into the equation. Every move you and your handler's make is geared with an eye on the next election where after you can wreak complete and utter havoc on the world and America as we know it. That Reagan guy was certainly a butcher in his day and I’m sure he died from his conscience overwhelming him, but I don't believe you have a conscience in you.

And that’s what is really scary to me. Giving you another 4 years in the white house is like giving rush Limbaugh a job on the Oxycontin assembly line. It's been said that monkeys will choose cocaine over food and water to the point of death. Well power is your new cocaine George. And we are the ones dying. It's the poor sods around the world and of course us fools back home in the ol' US of A!

George, have you gotten the point here yet? You are a contemptible, incompetent, foolhardy, hair triggered man with power that is completely oblivious not only in being able to use that power wisely but you don't even know that there IS a wise use of power. There has never been anything you have done Mr. Resident that hasn't been done for purely selfish purposes for you and the people you work for. Like I said before George, the jig is up.

We're done with you and you're ilk. WE are reclaiming OUR country and WE are going to hold YOU and your cronies responsible in the end. The hell with waiting for your creator to judge you George, that will be our job. When it all comes out in the wash this mansion of cards that has been allowed to flourish like a deadly mold through every open pore in the fabric of our society will be quashed permanently. The only good thing about you George is that you are SO reprehensible that we will NEVER EVER in our future forget what people like you and Nixon and Reagan have done to us. This time WE WILL NOT FORGET and WE will NOT let our children forget either!

Goodbye and good riddance.

Dear Brother George:

I want to say thank you for liberating the millions in Iraq. The left wing in America talk about human rights for homosexuals, who already enjoy many rights that those in Iraq do not get. The right to education, the freedom of speach, and the freedom to vote for their chosen elected official. And yet they don't bother to say thank you. Because you are labeled "Republican" some choose to hate you instead of objectively see what you have done. Some long for the days of President Clinton who did nothing to capture Osama when Osama was presented to him for capture. Yet they mock you and your accomplishments in Afghanistan and Iraq. They look at the meager number of lives we have lost. They are humbled, even, to see innocent lives taken as casualties and they hate you for that. Yet, we forget to say thank you for giving freedom to those in the middle east. They can now vote. They can now send their daughters to school. They may now choose their elected officials. Saddam and his sons will not rape the women of the land any longer. Some owe you an apology.

I would like to ask you to watch your spending habits. We have no reason to reach Mars. Some people think you came from there and are only trying to go back home! I say, save the money, use it for social programs, make us liberals a little happier and forget a mission to Mars.

I would like to ask that you begin fighting to protect the sanctity of marriage, or go down fighting. In this you may very well fix the course for America. Please consider giving them, however, some rights. I know that homosexuals would like to own property jointly. That really is fine and is not a threat to the sanctity of marriage. Be firm, be bold, and fight this fight to the end.

Lastly I would like to say may God bless you in the name of the Lord Jesus. May you continue to be honest. Serve the Lord with all your heart as Reagan and don't listen to the daily barage on your character. That is your strong point so of course they will attack you in this area. Stay the course. Don't be a quitter. Your legacy is already written in stone: "Liberator, Man of God".

In Christ,

Mohammad,
Georgia

P.S. If you do happen to leave office would you please buy the Atlanta Braves. May God have mercy on this team.
